The above Art Deco postcard was used by Guyot Brothers through the 1950's and early 1960's as a way to acknowledge orders that we had received through the mail. The reverse also had a place for anticipated shipping date. The card was also used for shipment notification of drop shipped orders. As the cost of telephone communications plunged through the 1960's the post card was replaced by a simple phone call, just as e-mail notification of shipments has replaced the phone.
