Glues & Adhesives
The Complete Guide to Glues & Adhesives
By Nancy Ward & Tammy Young
Review by Andrea Guyot Twombly

This large format, soft cover book is a wealth of information. The list of resources for glues, adhesives,
scrap booking supplies, art papers, writing instruments, and a plethora of other craft and hobby related items and tools alone is worth the price of the book. Thorough and clearly written, Ms. Ward and Ms. Young have included general safety guidelines for using glues and adhesives, assuming a beginner level of user. A general story on different types of adhesives with storage tips is also useful information. Clear photographs showing projects and materials are included in color, although in some cases I could not be sure about the objective of the project, and there are no photographs of the different steps, which for a visual learner this can be a challenge.
Two projects that caught my attention were a greeting card where the adhesives were used as part of the décor, and a Christmas tree ornament which uses small beads en masse with a random application, a great way to use up extra beads which have been accumulating in the bead box. |
