Collecting Victorian Jewellery appeals to those not only
interested in jewelry but also to those who like to know the roots of fashion in
history. Author Mary Peter lets her reader know in the foreword that
fashion and jewelry are frequently influenced by each other, so as times change,
the fashion and consequently the jewelry changes with it.
With that in mind, the book educates readers not only on
Victorian jewelry but on why pieces came about the way they did, who was
responsible for them, and the impact they have made on the creation of jewelry
today.
Overall the book is targeted at collectors. There are
chapters devoted to women's, men's and children's jewelry, also tourists'
jewelry, devotional and sentimental jewelry.
If you're a history buff like
me, this book won't let you down.
