Welcome to Guyot Brothers Irregular E-letter Why the hole in the center of these jewelry findings ? The answer to that question lives in your imagination. For years costume jewelry manufacturers have appreciated a hole in the center for many possible uses. The center hole is used as a space for beading wire to pass through, for riveting the items to ring shanks, pin backs, and bases used for strength and stability. Rhinestone clusters can also be riveted to these items. Riveting reduces the need for solder and adhesives, an added bonus. Filigree findings have been the most popular type of item for these uses, but why stop there? Here are some decorative hammered brass findings which can offer a different, sleeker appeal to a classic jewelry application. The smallest round disc with a hole can even be used as a hammered brass bead cap for larger beads.
If you would like samples and prices of any of the above items (manufacturers and volume users only, please), send an email to info@guyotbrothers.com and we will send them right away. Please include your name and address with your email.
PS- As always we appreciate your feed back and wish to thank one of our subscribers for letting us know about the difficulty many experienced determining the sizes of the findings we were showing. We added an inches scale here for reference and hope you find it useful.
