Caribbean Cuisine in Fredericton New Brunswick.
When we first decided to take a tour of New Brunswick for our summer vacation I immediately began thinking of all the seafood delights the North Atlantic had to offer. Needless to say I was a bit put out when my wife suggested we have Caribbean Cuisine during our stay in Fredericton New Brunswick. A brief "discussion" followed and as suspected off we went for the Caribbeanflavas Restaurant on York St in Fredericton.
It is hard to say what grabbed us first when we stepped through the door from the evenings drizzle, the captivating decor with its bright but not overpowering colors and simple lines or the overwhelming gracious greeting that says "welcome to our home it is such a pleasure to have you stop by and visit."
Upon gathering our senses we were escorted to a perfect table. ( After looking around we realized that just about all the tables were perfect.) Shortly thereafter Zi arrived and the service if you will, was so efficient warm and friendly that we almost wanted to help with the dishes and we hadn't even eaten yet !
The food ! How about a Caribbean spiced and grilled tuna steak or maybe Las Cuevas Coconut Shrimp that is so mouthwatering it almost stuns your taste buds, obviously prepared with care and cooked to perfection. All this followed by coconut ice cream. Without a doubt the cleanest tasting food we've had.
Speaking of clean this place was spotless, from the entry to the kitchen (which is in full view should you want to take a peek) to the welcoming entry way.
To sum it up, if you ever find yourself in Fredericton, give yourself a treat, plan on having dinner a Caribeanflavas
